Our History

Owner and photographer, Alyson Shim was born and raised in Manoa Valley on the island of Oahu.  After graduating from Kamehameha High School, she went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Finance & International Business.  Combining her love for working with children and business, she became the owner of the well-established photography company, Puddle Duck Portraits LLC in 2016.  

In 2019, Alyson brought on Meghan Akim as a partner and photographer to help with the expansion of the company.  Meghan graduated from Punahou School & Duke University.  She is most happy when she is working with children and behind the camera. 

One year later, in 2020, the company officially expanded beyond the preschool community and grew into the Elementary to High School market.  With that exciting change, we became Ilima Photos LLC.
